When the Senses Don’t Speak the Spirit Will

Often our senses deceive us, yet we insist on depending upon them daily for what we believe to be true and good. I remember the first time I slow cooked a pot greens in my little apartment in graduate school. All night I kept thinking I gotta have a bowl before church tomorrow; they smell so good! Only to realize once I opened the lid I had been deceived by the aroma, for I forgot to add my seasoned meat.
